Terms of service

Rescheduling, Cancellations & Refunds:  Scheduling occurs by agreement of both the client The Contented Violet, L:C. In case of inclement weather, services will be rescheduled at the discretion of both The Contented Violet, LLC and the client. Customers may cancel or reschedule service up to one hour before the scheduled service. No-shows and last-minute cancellations will be billed for the time spent traveling to the location of service at the rate of $1 a minute.

Payment: Billing rates will be agreed upon prior to any service. Payments are due within one week of the completion of services. Services for more than four hours worth of work require a $50 non-refundable deposit. Services for more than eight hours worth of work will be billed daily upon completion of work. The Contented Violet, LLC accepts cash, checks, and credit card payments via Stripe. There will be a additional $50 fee for any returned check.

Location: All services except daily garden-sitting services are offered within 15 miles of our location in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Clients up to 20 miles away may inquire as to additional availability. Daily garden-sitting services, with some exceptions, must be performed within 5 miles of our location.  Please inquire for availability.

Safety/Damage/Liability: The Contented Violet, LLC takes no responsibility for damage that may occur on the clients' property.  Clients should call/contact the Digger's Hotline prior to embarking on any gardening project and ascertain where any buried cables and pipes are on their property. Clients are also responsible for testing their own soil for any heavy metals or other contaminants that might make gardening unsafe. Clients are also solely responsible for their own safety while handling gardening tools and completing gardening tasks. The Contented Violet, LLC is not responsible for any personal accidents and/or injuries clients sustain during gardening. The clients agree to hold The Contented Violet, LLC harmless for any injuries or damages sustained preceding, during, and immediately following any gardening assistance.

Herbicides/pesticides: The Content Violet, LLC does not apply herbicides or pesticides and does not assume liability for any chemical applied to any yard. 

Plants and animals: While the Contented Violet, LLC will make all professional effort to assure gardening success, gardening is a hobby that is subject to the whims of Mother Nature. The Contented Violet is not responsible nor liable for the death of any plants on the clients' property. Likewise clients are responsible for the health and safety of their own pets.
